Empties: Body Washes (as of August 2020)

  • Decléor Bath & Shower Gel Néroli Bigarade

This has been my favorite shower gel for several months now. When I first tried it, I was surprised to find that its scent reminded me of star fruit, which instantly transported me back to memories of my home in Vietnam (we have a star fruit tree in the yard, which actually has really juicy and sweet fruits). The shower gel has a nice texture – not too thick, not too runny. It produces a lightly soft foam of tiny tiny white bubbles that I enjoy massaging on my skin. It’s a pleasure to use. I bought the 400ml size from skincity, too bad they only have the 250ml size now.

  • Green People Scent Free Shower/Bath Gel

This is my favorite scent free shower gel that I haven’t come across any better. I talked about it before. It’s a bit joyless to use at times, especially when I struggle with the gloominess closing in when we head into winter, but being soft and gentle – it stays firm as my first choice of being safe and can always count on (particularly in summer when I’m more exposed to the sun).

  • ESPA Bergamot and Jasmine Body Wash

I like bergamot scent and I’m forever in search of products with jasmine scent in my childhood memories. This is not it though. It was okay to use but I don’t see myself purchasing again.

  • ila-spa Body Wash for Toning Skin

I hears several compliments about this brand and decided to try. It was a long time since I used this product so I don’t remember exactly how it was, but I think it reminded me of ginseng scent and I didn’t find a good reason for me to repurchase.

  • Neom Organics Real Luxury Body & Hand Wash

I must have bought this because it had jasmine, but in my memories I don’t remember any jasmine. Predominantly it felt spicy, probably because of Brazilian rosewood. It also felt calming, which must have contributed to lavender. I used it around Christmas time last year, and even though it doesn’t stand out enough for me to repurchase, I do think of it fondly because of this association.

  • Molton Brown Jasmine & Sun Rose Bath & Shower Gel

“Jasmine”, “sun”, and “rose” – these words sounded right up my alley. Sadly, this was another failed attempt to try to find my perfect jasmine shower gel. I’m spoiled with plant-based products which have the most beautiful authentic scents from plants, and I remember this one just smelled artificial. Its texture was kind of thick, too. I didn’t find anything about it that I like, other than the name.

  • Decléor Grapefruit 1000 Grain Body Exfoliator

This one smelled like apricot to me. I used it once and sometimes twice per week, mixed in with the Néroli shower gel. I liked it well enough, but overall I didn’t find body scrub to be an absolute must-have, and therefore I rarely include any in my routine.
